In about 2 weeks I'll be replacing the old rusted out gas tank skid plate on my '90 GW. Putting in a used one in good condition. I suspect I'll have some rust to deal with on the chassis once the tank is down and I've read of good results with Chassis Saver. Any other products which might be better?

I'd like to protect my new used skid plate and any recomendations to delay the rust devils? Thanks, Jack

Seeing that you're in New England, I'm SURE you'll have frame rot. BJ's sells a frame patch kit, IIRC. Well worth it, and since you'll have the tank out anyway, it won't be a whole lot of extra work.

It requires welding. If you don't have a welder, time to buy your buddy some beer!

Sandblasting the frame is more of a pain than welding in the new piece. Put something in your ears or you be digging Black Beauty out of them for a month.
