For those who need to add a aftermarket manual temp gauge to your older AMC motor, It can be done. As everyone knows the factory temp sender hole is to small for the adapters they give you with the kit.
But the hole can be drilled and tapped.
I did it tonight and it works perfect. You use the smallest adapter they give you with the kit. All you need is a good 7/16 drill bit, a tap and a magnet. Use the magnet to keep the little pieces of metal that may want to fall in the hole.
If you want a new hole drill on the other side of the intake, if you want to make it easier and wont use your old sender again. Just drill the hole where it is bigger.
I know there may be some who dont recomend this, but if your like me and have no temp gauge and no way to add one. This works!!!
