I have looked at a few previous posts on this and just want to make sure I am looking at this correctly for an '88 G-wag.

I replaced the rear brake lines this weekend, but had mondo trouble bleeding them. 1 ok squirt and them, Nothing coming out. I would guess it is because I did not hold this Proportioning valve open?
I found in my newly aquired Chilton's book (for an '86, it was free, most will apply to an 88) that I need a special tool to hold it open...true??? if so where do I get one?

Any auto parts store has them. You just have to know if you have a "D" or a "W" valve. One you need to hold the button out and the other holds the button in. You can jury rig this though by jamming something under the button on one valve to hold it open and a hose clamp over the button on the other type to keep the button in.

thanks, I hope this will get me going. As with most everyone that has a G-wagoneer, my wife is threatening to sell it or me if I don't get it going soon.

Thanks again, you guys have been a great help.
