thanks to the forums on this site, my j10 is on the road.

i bought my 1983 j10 laredo for $700 last month. the PO gave up on it and left it for dead in front of his house.

it had an issue with stalling frequently. i instantly fell in love and bought it on the spot.

i combed through the forums for any information about stalling. and, having no experience with AMC (my first, but definately not my last) was able to find loads of information that helped me troubleshoot the problem.

i found loads of vacuum issues, replaced the icm and eventually found it was that dang sock in the tank.

thanks y'all. she runs like a champ with an inline filter and 193000 miles. i get 10 miles a gallon with a smile on my face.

glad to see your happy. my gladiator is the only vehicle im happy to drive with the mileage it gets. its just to cool to care :cool: :thumbsup:

good to know that this site helped you out.

i cant wait till i get the cherokee fixed up. my wrangler get 12-16, depending on where the **** moon is.:banghead: The 76 j10 i used to have got about 20MPG out of it, and it had the gutless 4.2, and weighed about twice as much... how is that possible? o ya, all the emissions BS that are on cars these days!!! rant off, sorry bout that.:D

nope. sure no smog tests in my county. good thing too cuz the smog pump is missing along with the cat.

i'll post pics when i get a day off this week.
