Saw a M715 half track today on the back of a trailer. It was a flat colored light blue with white star on the door and had a bed setup for troop seats. Did they come this way or would it be a custom build?

I've never heard of one or ever seen a pic and there is nothing in their manuals on it.

:worthless:

AFAIK, none were ever made. Probably a custom build.

A quick google search returned this image supposedly circa early 70's. Here is the text from the site along with the link.

Next it's Una-Track, about 1973-ish - they are pretty developed by 1973 Army tests, so I would say they were thought about by at LEAST 1970, specificly that someone thought it would be cool to make tracks that would bolt on like wheels, sort of an improvement of the Cuthbertson.

But that would be a FULL track! ;)

Those were tested by the military on the 715. They had problems with them.

A half-track would have "tank" treads on the rear and regular wheels on the front steering end.

Yep. Thats all that came up though. :D And it is KEWL so I was forced to post up the pic. My gramps had 2 White Half-Tracks after WWII. They had a small drag line crane mounted on them. He kept them until he couldnt find replacement tracks. Wish I had some pictures of em.

That's a cool pic! The one I saw was definately a half track and was in really sweet shape.
