Heres what happened . I pulled out on to the main drag and moderatly romped on it . About 50 feet later cough sputter sputter ...die . I strong armed it into a parking lot and went through the process. Got fire on the coil wire. Pulled the fuel line from the filter and bumped the motor over ..no fuel, just vapors ..Ok bad fuel pump..NOT ! Today I pull fuel line at pump. in the process of fixing to remove the old fuel pump,, but just decided to see if it spits gas ...It did...put the line back on and spit gas out of the filter. Hooked it all back togather and it ran . BTW It had a full tank, and i removed the gas cap to make sure there was no pressure or vac.
My temp guage quit as some point durring this week ..but it ran ok, 40 mile round trip to work and home .. I dont know... Anyone Have any Ideas .. this is the first time its ever done this .

BTW this ""fuel filter"" has 3 nipples 2 on one end and one on the other . The one on the end feeds from the fuel pump the 2 on the other end , one from tank,.... I think ... and the other goes to the carb

MONOLITHIC....
If your truck was at operating temperature I would guess it was a vapor lock but it could have been the sock on the fuel pickup. The extra nipple on the fuel filter is a vapor & fuel return line TO the tank. You can read all about it in the LINK below…
Good luck ..CUL. ;) . ds..
