I been putting off getting a new torch, but the time has come. I came across this in my travels across the internet trails of tools and equipment. I am wondering if anyone here has any comments or used one. I have sent an email for the price list. Cutting System (http://www.petrogen.com/welcome.html)

Hmm sure reads well.
Few quick thoughts, if it is anything like using LPG/Propylene, Propane it will have a higher Oxygen usage. So how much money are you saving? Would love to see oxygen consumption figures could'nt find any. Ave ratio's are
Oxy Acy- 1.5:1
Oxy Propylene- 3.0:1
Oxy Propane- 4.0:1
Sure reads safe, oxy acetylene equipment can be made safe i.e flashback arrestors on the regulators, good maintenance etc, how safe is any fuel?
Cannot be used for welding purposes, brazing/welding can be really handy sometimes!
Oxy Acetylene done right will give clean cuts, as clean as the ones they advertise. Rust is an issue. Speed of cut is really only an issue if you are cutting all day.
Hmm I am intrigued though

Nobby, thanks for bringing that up. I have used propane in the past, nice cutting with it, but yes a lot of Oxy to get it to burn. I will be calling them in the morning I want some detailed info on it. Sure does look good though.

Anybody know what the O2 consumption is when using HPG? We use that a lot at school, and have been thinking about getting a bottle for at home since its much cheaper than acetylene and we mostly do cutting (we already have acetylene so we can weld with it if wanted).

Yep HPG is Propylene so its ratio is 3.0:1
Here's a table I found the other day.

Well, I called  OXY ratio is the same as cutting with ACY. ;) however for me, cutting as much as I do, it would take a long long time to warrant the 935.00 price tag on the system. That price does not include the OXY reg or OXY tank. If you were to be cutting all day long I could see the advantages, but for the occasional use,it would take YEARS to pay for it. So off I go shopping for a new OXY/ACY set. ;) ;)

Pete, when you buy make sure you get Victor brand. If you aren't in a hurry let me know I may know where to get a good used set.

I have a propane/oxy set up and I HATE it!! It wont stay lit and doesnt cut good the few times it is lit. I have tried different torches but nothing works. When I get a chance Im switching to ACY
