I've always wanted a 78 J10 with a shortbed. Just love the way they look like Janie's old Peso rig. Anyhow, PO owned for the last 12 years and not running due to the 4350 not properly tuned as the guy said. Issues, rust in the usual spots, steering box leaks, throw out bearing going out(he thinks) and aftermarket fuel tanks = 35 gallons, I think. Well, I'm sure I'll have lots of questions for ya'll about this rig. Its a 4bbl, 360 bored .30 over, rv cam, 31" tires, 5 slot wheels, T18 tranny and not sure of the transfer case. Here are the pics!! Sorry will take more soon, I'm not happy with these pics.

Nice! When do we get to go for a ride? :D
T-case should be a Dana 20 if it's stock...and from what else you've noted, it should be. The T18/D20 combo is rock solid in these trucks.
Is that a Comanche on the road behind it in the one pic? :)

Nice truck! Any chance you can snap a couple of pics of the tire mount inside the bed? I am going to mount my spare in that same position.
Thanks! Jim
Very nice! Congratulations.

Yes, that is the neighbors comanche. He's had that for a long long time!
That is also a plant in the way in the pic!
I'll get a pic of the spare tire mount soon.
Thanks for the compliments. I'm working on the 4350. What a pain! Compared to the 2100! More parts anyways. I put the carb back in and now it won't start. I don't think it's getting any gas at the moment. Will keep tinkering until I give up I guess. I've already got some body questions to ask and other ?? but I'm going to post a new thread for that.
Happy jeepn'!

Looks like you've got the best of everything already.....v8, 4spd, part time, slots, brow, body in great shape, and a fresh cement driveway. Hope it's got sealer in it. :p
Congrats. I'd be looking for all the same stuff in a J too.

Really nice truck.
I have to say I'm a bit envious of the paint. Mine is straight, but the paint is horrendous.
Other than trim packages, ours are pretty much twins, so obviously I'm a bit biased, but that is by far my favorite J-truck.
