One does this when his GW's vacuum advance nipple hits the power steering bracket thereby keeping the distributor from being turned to the desired location for proper ignition timing.

what is..... move all spark plug wires one move to the left(or right) and then retime.

tune it by ear it will run better and you will have more precicion unless you have trouble turning the distributer with your ear in which case you should use a timing light

Veepster: Correct! I was hoping you could tell me which way exactly but I think that if my distributor is turned all the way counter-clockwise, the wires should be moved counterclockwise and the dist. moved back clockwise. I'll let ya' know.

Josh: Actually I am timing by ear and performance since my timing light bulb blew and the emmissions have been modified (by previous owner-Al Gore).

move all the sparkplugs in the opposite direction you want the vacuum advance to go.......

I may be able to match you.... a guy came to me today with a computer that has been thru 6 people you said they sould fix it in the last 5 weeks!!! I had it for 1.5 hours and got it up... well sort of....I need to bring my software in tomorrow to complete the programming... you should have seen his face of bliss!!!
