Hi everyone. My wife and I just purchased our first Jeep. We now own a 87 Grand Wagoneer. We bought if off of Evilbay. Flew to Oregon and drove it home to Mississippi through two blizzards, numerous road closings resulting in detours and hundreds of miles added to the trip. 2643 miles to get acquainted with the Jeep. It did just fine, especially in the snow and ice.
We have some plans for it, nothing too radical, just make it more fun to get around on some of the backroads around here.
I tried to post a couple pics but I guess I need to shrink them some more to get them to load.
Great site!!

Post your pics through Photobucket. Took me two years to finally figure out how it's done but it's really simple.

Thanks guys for the warm welcome.
As far as driving that far with an unfamiliar vehicle, my wife and I had not done anything CRAZY in a long time so we were over due. Besides, I'm a fair shadetree mechanic and figured I could repair "most" anything that happened on the road.
Good mpg's.....I figure I was getting around 10 to 12 if we stayed out of the mountains. That's hard to do on the route we took.
Brandon is about 20 miles east of Jackson MS on I20
I know I'll be looking to you guy's experience with some minor issues I have with the Woody.
Thanks again,
Terry

Thanks, we hope it just keeps chugging along like it did going cross country. As we speak, Anne(my wife) is having new tires put on, oil change and kind of an undercarriage inspection. I know it needs swaybar bushings.
I did leave good feed back as he did for me. After looking at some of the others listed on fleabay, I think we came out OK on our deal. It has a lot of miles on it but the 360 has been rebuilt, it doesn't smoke or leak at all. Doesn't run hot after letting it idle in the drive today for 30 minutes with the AC on. It was almost 80 here today. I'm happy with that. It looks to have had a larger(4 core maybe) radiator installed but is otherwise box stock. The interior is in pretty good shape too which is a plus.
So far we really like it.

Trying this again.
The first picture was taken between Ogden UT and Salt Lake City UT.
The second and third ones shows some of the "better" roads we encountered in NM. We were in 2WD for 99% of the snow and ice covered roads:D We headed south soon after the third picture was taken due to I40 being closed just east of Santa Rosa NM. We headed south to look for aliens in Roswell. We saw a few but couldn't tell if they were local aliens or the "real" ones:) Then it was down to Artesia, then Hobbs, Seminole, Lamesa to Big Spring where we got on I20 to go to DFW. No snow in southern NM, not much of anything really LOL

Yep, I59 out of Birmingham all the way to Cleveland TN, then it's 64/74 to NC129.
Thanks. Not 100% sure we're going yet but I hope we do. I need a brake LOL.
I hope they re-open Telico OHV up there. We stay about 30-40 minutes from there.

If you click on your link, then look to the right of the picture you see several options... one says "img"... left click on it and it should copy it automatically. If not, after you have left clicked on it, right click on it and choose "copy". Then paste it into your post. You can also go to your album... place the cursor over the pic you want... a box should open below it. If not, left click. When the box drops down under the pic choose the "img" option (should be the last one).
Works like a charm...

That trip was our first CRAZY thing to do this year :D. We can only go so long with out doing something carzy. I think this trip will do us for a few months LOL
We are enjoying our Jeep for sure. I'm still in the process of "making it mine" and getting familiar with it. It has several little things that are more of an annoyance than anything. I spent part of today tracking down the heater fan issue, replaced a couple interior bulbs and repaired one of the driving lights. I just like things to be as right as I can make them.
Thanks, love this site already.
