Finally found my J-Truck.
I am naming it "Thummer" (as in hitch hike and a play on another vehical name...) since it died on the test drive!
It is a J-20, 1981 56k miles, all stock (am radio even)
I know it has a np208 (tag on t-case), and a full floating d60 rear (8400gvw)
What tranny would it have, I am not familiar with autos?
Body is really solid, some rust on the fender flate seams and the rear quarters, floor is solid....for this part of the country that is really rare in a vehical that old.

I know - anyone know of a visor that will fit a J-Truck so it can at least have a toupee since it has no "hair"?

Might see if someone like JC Wipnmee has anything. Might still offer one for a GW that you could make work. The waggies and trucks used the same windshield, so it would be close enough to use.
Just a thought. Check ebay also.

I've seen alot of "browless" J-trucks turned into very nice off road machines........I can't think of any right now but they're out there...;)
J/K I'm just envyous of your tight closing doors, lack of wind noise from the brow, and windshield wiper fluid that doesn't came back down the window after wiping. :D

Considering your predisposition toward all things brow, you must think the ultimate in female desirability is Brook Shields. :)

Haha. I haven't seen her for awhile. Was it an improvement?

it seems to me we have seen this truck before...and it did the same thing on that test drive...if I recall correctly"all I heard was the price dropping" -ring a bell??

Yes this was my return trip to the dealer for the 2nd test drive (it stayed running this time), and I was right about the price dropping.
The ignition module was bad, which they replace with a USED unit, which I pointed out in my negotiations.
