What is involved in turnin the full time front hubs on a 1978 Wagoneer into part time hubs?

Others will surely know more than me (they alway do) but I'm sure you need a part time kit for the tcase prior to changing out the hubs. Not sure how this works since I've never owned a full time setup before.

Hi Tom Welcome to the Forum. I take it you have the Q-Trac in your 78. This being the case, it is not an easy task. The Q-trac transfer case is a FULL TIME case thus needing full time hubs. Only way to convert to part time hubs is to convert the Q-Trac to part time as well. Milemaker makes a Part time conversion for the Q-trac. You DO NOT want to put part time hubs in a Q-Trac transfer case with out a kit in the t-case, severe damage will occur ;)

I've mostly read that if you're after better gas mileage, it isn't worth the money you spend to change full-time to part-time; the savings in gas mileage are very minimal.
