pretty simple job on my 83. ymmv. maybe soak the nuts in pb blaster
If you're replacing the whole joint, just an unbolt and bolt. If you're just replacing the rubber disc, you have to grind off the heads of the rivets/bolts and replace them with the nuts and bolts that come with the new disc.

I replaced just the disc... what a PITA. way easier to buy the whole joint. just my opinion
where can i get the whole unit? i have only seen the disc

Dealer only......$106.00, I checked.

SoCal, I could have sworn they had aftermarket ones out there. I just replaced the disc and it was a PITA, but they can stick the $106 dollar one where God split'um.

The only aftermarket one I found had only the disc. The dealer one is pressed together. I was going to buy it because after all the time and frustration of getting the old one apart, it seemed easier to just shell out the $106. Then only my wallet would hurt.

I cut mine off I went to a tractor supply and got these universal joints like 2 driveshafts ends wellded them on put a universal inbetween and works better then ever and only cost $30.00

Try borgeson for complete ones, or UJ's.

IMO Replacing just the rag isn't that much of a chore.
