I had a problem with my TA this weekend it started to flood out of the vent tube and running cruddy so I pulled the primary float bowl off and it was full of paint chips (actually Holley's coating) I thought great I have only had this thing on here for about 8 months and had one problem with a sticking needle and seat that cost me 80 bucks to have fixed because I didn't have the time to do it myself.
Anyway I started my Internet search on how to repair this problem and found on a corvette forum that Holley had a few bad runs of inferior materials.
the date codes ranges are 0016-1986 and 3345-3655 the date code is stamped on the front of the air horn mine is stamped 1266 which means 126 day of 2006 so it falls right in the middle of the batch.
Long story short I called Holley this morning and talked to Ricky in KY and he was very nice I said hello I have a problem with a coating problem on my 670 TA He said ok I can give you a name and address to send it to and as soon as I get it I will send out a new one for you.
Wow talk about customer service he didn't even ask for the date code but I confirmed it with him anyway. I should have my new carb here just in time for a short run (Kids on the rocks) and them I will pull it back off for fuel injection Just gathering parts:)

darn it oh well at least you didnt have to buy another one, when I called holley about how to convert the backwards idle screw carb to a regular style the guy was a real pain to deal with, he treated me like I was an idiot maybe he was having a bad day but jeeze.

I have seen one of those polished 650's do that. The aluminum bowls just start to flake apart in layers. I didn't know Holley would warranty them, that is good to know.
