I'm pondering pulling the 401 out of my CJ5 and putting it into my waggy, and the waggys 360 into the CJ5. Both run good, but I want to freshen up the 401. One of these has to be my daily driver because the wife drives the new car. The junk belongs to me:rolleyes: Since summer is comming I was thinking of pulling both engines and stabing the 360 into the baby jeep, and build the 401. The waggy is my project and in the garage. Both drive now but what to do?

I reckon you can start by making sure you have the right flexplate/flywheel for the swaps. The rest is just work.

It sounds like a good deal. If you swapped the tranny and t-case it might be a little easier.

The 401 flexplate for the A/T and a 360 flywheel for the T18 correct? everything else should bolt up the same I would think.

The 401 will move your waggy better and make it more capable of towing and such. The 360 will still be more than enough to move the cj and make it an enjoyable ride. Do it..
Sounds like the right thing to do.
